Galaxy S5 mencatat rekor yang mengesankan. Baru satu bulan beredar di pasaran, smartphoneunggulan terbaru besutan Samsung ini sudah terjual 11 juta unit.

CEO Samsung JK Shin baru saja melaporkan pencapaian penjualan Galaxy S5 selama satu bulan ketersediaannya. Ia menyatakan bahwa Galaxy S5 telah berhasil terjual lebih dari 11 juta unit sejak diluncurkan di pasar global pada pertengahan April lalu.

"Sudah satu bulan sejak kami pertama kali menjual Galaxy S5 ke pasaran. Dan hasilnya, penjualan smartphone ini lebih baik jika dibandingkan pendahulunya, Galaxy S4," ujar Shin kepada Wall Street Journal.

Saat diluncurkan pada tahun lalu, Galaxy S4 memang 'hanya' terjual 10 juta unit dalam satu bulan ketersediannya di pasar. Angka yang sama justru diperoleh Galaxy S5 dalam kurun 25 hari.

Shin menambahkan bahwa lebih tingginya penjualan Galaxy S5 dibanding Galaxy S4 dikarenakan strategi baru Samsung dengan membuat persiapan yang lebih baik dengan para operator seluler di 125 negara secara bersamaan.

Pada perilisannya 11 April 2014, Galaxy S5 memang langsung dijual serentak di 125 negara di dunia, termasuk di Indonesia.
